Two and a half months later, during one of the toughest winters we’ve experienced in this arctic part of the world I call home, I found out that I’m not a certified alcoholic per se. Alas, I am on a very promising path to become one. And so I met Chris. My sponsor, sort of. An American volunteering in Northern Europe, helping youth get back on track among other blessed deeds. Chris became my mentor. He was also the one who introduced me to an organization that would change my life and me, as a person in particular, for the better. YWPO, Youth with Purpose Organization.

Less than six months after one of my lowest points, which I now like to call “Christmas on the john,” I’ve fulfilled my New Year’s resolution and so much more.

You could say I’ve found my calling.
